2007-12-09 Poetry, Song, Blessing

Blessing (to the tune of “Morning has broken”)

May the Lord bless you, may the Lord keep you.
When the Lord sees you, may He just smile.
Over the sorrow, long past tomorrow,
May the Lord’s peace fill your heart awhile.

Your heart was broken, in the bright sunshine,
Hard words were spoken, tears in the rain,
Over the sorrow, long past tomorrow,
May the Lord’s love fill your heart again.

Years pass in twilight, children are mem’ries,
All of your dreams might vanish with day.
Still I will be there, waiting for you there,
When the Lord comes and takes us away.

May the Lord bless you, may the Lord keep you.
When the Lord sees you, may He just smile.
Over the sorrow, long past tomorrow,
May the Lord’s peace fill your heart awhile.
